Our Aims
The North
Nottinghamshire Minority Consultative Group was established in 2004 to
support the ministerial priority to increase trust and confidence in
policing amongst local communities.
Members are
invited as individuals, not representatives of organisations, and
reflect views of their communities; they do not represent those
communities.
It provides the
opportunity for members of the community to:
-
influence
operational policing policy and/or policing style
-
encourage action
on specific problems
-
elicit police
recognition of community dynamics and cultural differences
-
increase
accountability & conflict resolution
The consultation
will enable the police to:
-
identify
operational issues and problems
-
inform delivery
of policing services and develop policing methods
-
promote support
for and co-operation with the police
-
inform and
educate the public about policing
